Annie Mahtani is a composer and sound artist. Her music is created out of real world sound material and explores the juxtaposition of real, abstract and surreal sound worlds.

With a strong interest in collaboration, Annie has worked with dance, theatre and on site-specific installations. She completed her MPhil and PhD at the University of Birmingham where she was an active member of BEAST performing and touring with them on a regular basis. Her music is regularly performed in the UK, Canada, USA and across Europe and has received recognition in competitions and festivals internationally.
